The Creative Group recently published this infographic on the benefits of “walking away” from your desk. We’ve been exalting the benefits of a Clarity Break™ for years, now here’s some metrics to back up our belief…
Great leaders have a habit of taking some quiet time to think. Some time to clear your head from the foam that comes from the waves constantly crashing in their heads. Some time to think about, perhaps work ON the business instead of IN it all the time.
Different folks prefer different timing – some need to spend 30 minutes every day, some prefer 2 hours every week, or even just a day a month. It’s never not worth it.
The challenge is- maintaining the discipline to do it. Go ahead, take out your calendar/phone and plug in your next one (and this time make it a recurring event).
The one thing you need to recognize is — it will save you more time than it took because of the clarity that it created. You end up being much more effective.
